This will NEVER be completed. There are too many people that have made this region great. But I’m going to do the best with the time I have.

They are more associated with Texas, but the legend of the Funk family started right here in the Midwest.

The legacy of this family from Hammond, Indiana can’t really be measured.

Quite simply and without hyperbole, professional wrestling as it is today would not be as great as it is without these men. They are members of every Hall of Fame that matters and their reach stretches out across the world and generations of both wrestlers and fans.

Dory Sr. influenced more people that can be named in full books but arguably the biggest impact he left was his two ultra talented and well respected sons.

Both Dory Jr. and Terry were NWA World Champion when that was THE championship. After their reigns were over they continued to influence every wrestler that ever had the good fortune of seeing them in the ring.

Outside of their in ring exploits all of the Funks were loved and respected by all that knew them. To me? That means more than any championship you could possibly win.

So today 8/30/23 Dory, Dory Jr and Terry Funk become the 4,5 and 6th member of the MWT Hall of Fame.

Since 1960 Les Thatcher has been involved in the wild world of professional wrestling.

He has been a wrestler, champion, promoter, trainer, commentator and everything else in between in his long and storied career.

The man has been apart of a lot of great moments and memories for so many others, including myself. So that’s why I decided to make sure he understands what a true legend and inspiration he is to others.

Folks, our third induction in the MWT Hall of Fame is the great Les Thatcher. 7/18/23

I hate having to do this.

Lee Carter (Lee G) was a beloved member of the team here at MWT since almost the beginning.

He was there for the first PawCade. He wrote articles that are still looked at daily on this site.

He loved life.

He strived to make everything he participated in seem important and make everyone believe and be as hyped about it as he was.

He was a good person, father and friend to all that knew him.

Tragically he was lost to us to soon but I feel it’s only appropriate that my friend be honored for his contributions not only to this website but to humanity as a whole.

My friends. The second ever MWT Hall of Fame member is the late Lee Carter.

Sean was special.

Not just as an official, of which he was one of the best.

But as a human being.

Sean was one of those people that had the ability to make everyone who knew him feel like they were the most important thing in the world to him. If only for a few seconds.

Sean was an amazing person, father, friend and whatever else you can use to describe a human being.

Words can’t describe how much he will be missed by many.

This is a small thing but Sean deserves every honor that we can bestow on someone, because it was an honor to know him.

We loved him and he is the very first inductee into our Hall of Fame.

Sean Patrick O’Brien.
